Parrsboro Tennis Courts
Parrsboro operates 2 tennis courts throughout the summer months which offer youth lessons. This facility is free of charge to use outside of lesson times for all ages.
Tennis Court Rules:
1. Courts are available on a first-come, first served basis.
2. Please keep the gates closed at all times.
3. Sitting, pushing or pulling on tennis nets is prohibited.
4. The uses of profane or obscene language is not permitted. Rough play, throwing racquets or abusive conduct is not permitted.
5. No littering - please keep the courts clean.
6. Tennis courts are to be used for tennis only. No bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, scooters, wheeled vehicles of any type, or other activities permitted.
7. Pets are not allowed on courts.
8. The following items are prohibited in and around the courts: alcoholic beverages, glass containers, food, gum and cigarettes.
These rules exist for the purpose of protecting the courts from damage due to improper use. Each player is asked to cooperate, and assist in enforcing them.
Parrsboro Community Garden
Parrsboro and your Community Health Board (SPAR) have joined forces to offer the residents of Parrsboro access to a community garden. Currently there are 12 - 4' x 6' raised garden plots as well as 2 raised higher for those with mobility limitations. The bed and soil will be provided free of charge, as well as water access. Seeds, tools, etc. will be your responsibility, as well as weeding and care of your garden. Garden plots may be used by community members, groups and workplaces. You can plant vegetables, herbs or flowers in your garden. Garden plots will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.
Community Use Fitness Centre
Parrsboro Lion's Arena
Operated by the Parrsboro Lions Club, Parrsboro has an artificial ice surface which is home to the Parrsboro Skating Club, Parrsboro Minor Hockey Association, recreational hockey, as well as curling. The facility is used throughout the year for many events such as car shows, Old Home Week, and Relay for Life. For more information or to book this facility, contact the Parrsboro Lions Club.
Parrsboro Schools offer their soccer field for community use through the summer months. Parrsboro Recreation offers youth soccer classes, as well as adult recreational soccer at this location.
There are 2 outdoor basketball courts available for use in Parrsboro. One is located at the High School and the other is located on Riverside, beside the Aboiteau.
Parrsboro Golf Club
This short 9-hole golf course just outside of Parrsboro is situated on the cliffs above the Bay of Fundy's Minas Basin. This is notably one of the most scenic courses in Canada!
There are 3 playgrounds in Parrsboro for the public to use. The 2 playgrounds at the Elementary School are accessible for the community after school hours. There is also a playground on Riverside beside the Fundy Geological Museum.
Off-Leash Dog Park
Alongside the Riverside Playground, there is an off-leash dog park for you and your furry friends to enjoy. This is a gated park which allows your pet to run freely.
Located beside the Parrsboro Post Office, this small but attractive park offers a comfortable place to sit, have lunch, or just rest and take in the beautiful plants, flowers, and shrubs.
The Civic Gardens situated adjacent the former Town Hall offers a beautiful park setting to enjoy picnics, music at the Band Stand, as well as community events.
Partridge Island is connected to the mainland by a beautiful stretch of beach which is a popular tourist location year-round. Situated next to the Ottawa House Museum, the beach leads to the island which has a sprawling 1.5km moderate hiking trail that crosses over the island to a look-off of spectacular views of Cape Split, Cape Blomidon, and Spencer's Island.
Parrsboro Service Centre Boardrooms
The Parrsboro Service Centre (former Town Hall) offers meeting and program space for your group or organization. One boardroom is equipped with a kitchenette. If you are looking for suitable space, contact the Service Centre for availability.
Parrsboro Fire Hall
The Parrsboro Fire Hall is a great recreational facility for all your programming needs. Whether you want to host a wedding reception, a dance, a meeting, or a program, this space can fit your needs. To book the hall, contact James Shaw at 902-254-4295.
Glooscap Park and Campground
Owned and operated by the Municipality of the County of Cumberland, this campground offers sites for tents and RV's, a playground, beach access, a canteen, as well as WiFi. This location is also popular for cross-country skiers, hikers, beach combers, and sleigh/trail rides. Recreational areas are open for public use year round
