Application for Employment Upcoming ProgramsWalking Club - Runs weekly, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Parrsboro Fire Hall from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. Ending May 18th. All ages welcome. FREE! Basketball - Fridays, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at High School. Ages 16+. Fee $2. Sign in on site. Ball Hockey - Tuesdays from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at High School. Ages 16+, $2. Sign in on site. Youth Ball Hockey - Mondays, from April 2nd - May 28th (except April 9th and May 21st) at the Elementary school. Primary to Grade 3 from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm and Grades 4 to 6 from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm. $2 per afternoon. Healthy Aging - A series of social, informative and active events for those who wish to age healthy. Friday, May 11th; Monday, May 28th; Friday, June 8th; and Wednesday, June 20th from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm at Town hall. FREE! Geology Gems - In partnership with the Fundy Geological Museum, we will be running a five week program for all ages to learn about the rocks and minerals in our area. We will also have two special exploration days where we will visit Partridge Island to collect specimens to study. Wednesdays, from April 11th - May 9th from 2:45 pm - 5:00 pm. $15/5 weeks OR $4 drop in. Spring Hikes - Sunday, May 13th - Partridge Island. Sunday June 10th - Fox River. All ages welcome. Meet at Town Hall at 1:00 pm. Bring a lunch. FREE! Little Sneakers at Play - What better way to foster play at an early age than to come out and play with others your age! Little Sneakers is a program designed for toddlers/preschoolers and their caregivers to participate in games and activities that promote learning, growth, and play! May 4th and May 18th, June 1st (4 weeks) from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm at Town Hall. $5/4 weeks or $1.50 drop in fee. Busy Bees - Tuesdays from May 1st - June 5th for ages 5+ (school age) and Thursdays from May 3rd - June 7th for ages under 5. Both groups will run from 2:45 pm - 4:00 pm. Pick up and drop off at Parrsboro Elementary. Nutritional snack included! $2 per day. Family Fun Day, Picnic and Bonfire - Saturday, May 19th starting at 4:00 pm at Patridge Island beach. We will have family games and competitions followed by a picnic (bring your own) and roast marshmallows over the bonfire! FREE! Adult Bowling Trip - Looking for a fun way to stay active? Join us for a bus trip to Amherst to visit King Pin Bowling on Wednesday, May 23rd. Meet at Town Hall at 5:00 pm. Return at 9:00 pm. $15 per person. Must have 15 people to run this trip. A "Call of Interest" was placed in schools and over 50 students signed up, boys and girls. To date there is enough interest to form a Mosquito team, 2 Atom teams and 1 Pee Wee and almost one Bantam team. New players are needed to make this a success- join now to show your interest and help make Sport History in Cumberland County! Criteria: 1) Must be an individual, group or team either professional or amateur. 2) Must reside or have resided or represent a group, team or club within the Parrsboro School district. 3) Must place first, second or third in a provincial competition or qualify to participate in a national or international event, or make a distinct contribution to their field. Award Structure: All those honoured will be presented with a gold lapel pin and names will be placed on an honour roll. Selection Process: Eligible recipients will be determined by the Recreation Committee upon receipt of that name from the public. Presentation: Awards will be presented at the first council meeting following the achievement taking place. |
